Operator T-Mobile increased its operating profit by 8.9 percent year-on-year to CZK 10.13 billion in the first three quarters of this year. Revenues rose by 2.7 percent to CZK 23.598 billion. The company recorded a total of 6.63 million customers, an increase of 1.8 percent. This was announced today in a press release.
T-Mobile invests in networks
The number of prepaid card users fell by one percent to 1.73 million, while the operator recorded 785,000 SIM cards for machine communication. Mobile data consumption increased by 19 percent, while the number of SMS messages sent fell by 5.2 percent.
“The volume of investments, including network modernization and new technologies, reached CZK 2.4 billion in the first nine months of this year. However, we are expecting further investments of around CZK 2 billion by the end of the year. We are also focusing on the development of optical infrastructure and connections, where high-speed internet coverage is currently available to almost 1.3 million households, and mobile 5G signal coverage reached 97.79 percent at the end of October, according to statistics from the Czech Telecommunications Office,” said Melinda Szabó, CEO of T-Mobile and Slovak Telekom.
T-Mobile expands AI services
The company also said that this year it focused on making artificial intelligence (AI) available to its customers and, following Perplexity Pro, introduced its own Magenta AI in July, which it made available for free in the My T-Mobile mobile app. The operator subsequently offered a fully integrated AI assistant in its new 5G devices.
In the corporate customer segment, thanks to T-Mobile’s 5G network, Tawesco can test its Smart Factory in Kopřivnice, and the Military Hospital in Brno is the first hospital in the Czech Republic to launch full-scale operation of a private 5G SA network, also from T-Mobile, the company added today.
