Network Recovery Reaches 91%, but Fresh Regional Threats Cloud the Horizon
“The first six months of the 2026/2027 financial year were highly challenging for Emirates. Repeated airspace restrictions and closures across the region tested the airline’s operational flexibility, while government travel advisories influenced customer decision-making and travel flows,” stated Emirates Group, the parent company of the Dubai-based carrier.
At the end of September, Emirates was operating 91 percent of its route network compared to levels seen before the flight disruptions, the company reported. According to Reuters, prospects for a complete recovery among Gulf carriers could be further complicated by recent attacks on Saudi Arabia carried out by Yemen’s Houthis.
