Necker Island, British Virgin Islands
Richard Branson, British billionaire, bought Necker Island in the British Virgin Islands for about 180 000 pounds in 1978. Now the island is worth 100 million dollars. He turned Necker Island into a luxury retreat with Balinese style houses run by private staff. It provides accommodation for up to 28 people.
Cost of stay begins at 16 460 dollars per couple for a four-night stay. Renting the entire island reportedly costs over $50,000 a night. You can also rent a submarine called the Necker Nymph there for 3 people. The island is ideal for weddings, some of the famous celebrities who married there are for example Google co-founder Larry Page and of course Branson married his wife Joan there.
